Golden Sands Beach

Located along the scenic northern stretch of Vero Beach, Golden Sands Park is a beautifully preserved oceanfront haven that serves as a vital gateway to the world-renowned Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. This wide, golden shoreline is a paradise for beachcombers looking to hunt for unique shells, build sandcastles, or wade in the ocean under the supervision of daily lifeguards. Families can easily spend the entire day here thanks to an array of excellent amenities, including free paved parking, clean restrooms, outdoor showers, a modern children's playground, and wheelchair-accessible beach crossovers. To protect this critical wildlife nesting habitat and ensure a peaceful experience, the county strictly prohibits pets, alcohol, and glass containers, while requiring visitors to stay off the fragile sand dunes. Finally, while enjoying the water, swimmers should remain mindful of strong Atlantic currents and occasionally watch out for stinging Portuguese man o' wars that can drift close to the shore.
