History
Point Michaud Beach is a Department of Natural Resources Beach Park. It was recognized in a province-wide beach study as an area with regular beach populations and potentially dangerous surf conditions. The NSLS began supervising this beach in a partnership with the Municipality of Richmond County in 2010.
Beach Safety
Point Michaud Beach's supervised swimming area is marked by red and yellow flags on either side of the beach. It is generally about 100 metres in width, but can vary depending on beach conditions. Point Michaud Beach can also experience rough conditions, creating strong currents and rips that can be dangerous for swimmers.
