The coastal access point for Panther / Yellowbank Beach is undergoing renovations in early 2025. Once complete, the site will include a paved parking lot and restroom facilities. This stretch of dramatic, secluded coastline lies approximately 10 miles north of the City of Santa Cruz and is known for its rugged beauty and opportunities for hiking, photography, and solitude. The trail to the beach is steep and unmaintained—use caution and wear sturdy footwear. There are no facilities at this site, so please ""leave no trace"" by packing out all belongings and respecting the natural environment. The beach is unguarded and known for hazardous conditions including strong rip currents, cold water, and powerful sneaker waves. Stay off rocks and cliffs, especially if they are wet—waves may be actively breaking over them. Do not attempt to cross areas that may be cut off by the tide, and always check tide charts before visiting. There are no lifeguards. If you see someone in trouble in the water, call 911 immediately.
