Dominion Beach was one of the original 15 beaches first supervised by the Nova Scotia Beach Supervision Program in 1973.
Beach Safety
Dominion Beach is a relatively safe beach with a gentle sloping sand bottom. It can experience large surf conditions when the wind is blowing from the Northeast. The rough surf conditions develop strong currents, which can make swimming dangerous. The supervised swimming area is marked by two red and yellow flags approximately 200m apart. On days with offshore winds, inflatables or floatation devices are not to be used.
