Bolivar Peninsula

The North Jetty provides great fishing opportunities, but proceed at your own risk as it is a 2.5 mile long rock path, that if injured or hurt on, there will be an extended time for rescue due to terrain, distance, and weather.

Bolivar Peninsula Beaches offer a laid-back coastal escape with wide open shores and vehicle-friendly sand. Families love the drive-on access, gentle surf, and pet-friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of spots for fishing, shell collecting, and beach picnics. Galveston County ESD2 helps keep these beaches safe and clean, with patrols and emergency support. It’s the perfect spot for relaxed, coastal fun without the crowds.

Jellyfish Activity

Unavailable

High Jellyfish Activity

The jellyfish activity is determined by how many people have been stung by jellyfish on that day. When more than two beachgoers have been stung by a jellyfish at the same tower location, a purple indicator will appear in front of the tower. The jellyfish activity dial adjusts based on the total jellyfish incidents for the entire beach.

Swim at your Own Risk

Beaches and oceans are dynamic natural environments.  Crowd conditions, currents, waves, wild animals, and other water and beach conditions can rapidly change. The risks and conditions shown on this site are informational only and not always real-time.  Actual conditions may differ.  Lifeguards are not always on duty or available.  Always remain aware of your surroundings and exercise due care for your own safety and the safety of others around you.

Always check for water warnings or check with a lifeguard before you swim.
