History
Aylesford Lake Beach is a relatively new site. It was man-made and ready for public use in 1990, and since then has been well visited by regular beach goers and tourists to the area.
Beach Safety
Aylesford Lake Beach is generally very safe. There are no drop-offs or dangerous spots in the water. The lake's rocky bottom can be uncomfortable for tender feet. The Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service supervises a 100m section of the beach. Each end of the beach is well defined by rock and tree lines. Boats are not permitted to travel within the supervised area, which is marked by red buoys in the water and red and yellow flags on land. Due to county regulations, alcohol, pets and open fires are not permitted on the beach.
