Since 1936, the mission of the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol has been to provide the highest level of qualified lifeguards to educate, patrol, and protect the public and beach environment for Long Beach Township’s 12 miles of ocean beach. With nearly two-hundred lifeguards on staff trained in many emergency response techniques, the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol strives to provide a safe and enjoyable beach environment.
Long Beach Township comprises the largest parts of LBI, with various different portions located throughout the 18-mile stretch of beaches. This expansiveness brings a variety of settings in which to enjoy a day trip or a longer stay. From the peacefulness and privacy of Loveladies and North Beach to the convenient boat access in High Bar Harbor to the more bustling areas between Brant Beach and North Beach Haven, a visit to Long Beach Township is sure to exceed your expectations of a vacation at the Jersey Shore.
