Greyhound Rock County Park is a scenic coastal area off Highway 1 between Davenport and Pescadero. A steep trail leads to a wide beach backed by dramatic cliffs, with scenic views of the offshore formation known as Greyhound Rock. Sturdy footwear is recommended. This area lies within the Greyhound Rock State Marine Conservation Area, adjacent to the Año Nuevo SMCA. Recreational fishing is allowed with restrictions; commercial take is prohibited. Please check current MPA regulations before fishing. The beach is popular for fishing, tidepooling, and long shoreline walks, especially at low tide. It’s possible to walk north to Waddell Beach (1.5 miles one way), but high tide may block your return—plan ahead. Safety Note: Ocean conditions are hazardous with strong currents, cold water, and sneaker waves. There are no lifeguards on duty. Climbing rocks or bluffs is dangerous and discouraged. If you see someone in trouble, call 911 immediately. No facilities. Open Sunrise to Sunset
